What if there was a tool, which would help you learn and understand how the EU AI Act will impact your product or service? Now there is.
In September 2024 a Finnish-Danish joint action was announced to produce digital tools on the European Artificial Intelligence (AI) Act, the Data Act and the European Health Data Space (EHDS) regulation to enable the innovators and deployers of digital solutions to make informed decisions regarding these new acts. We are excited to announce the release of the first one in the series: the Entries AI Act e-tool!
The e-tool will be available free of charge to all Finnish industry sectors and the Danish health tech sector until the end of March 2026. In addition the e-tool is available free of charge to all SMEs and public organisations in the EU as well as Ukraine through the network of the European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIHs).
By using this e-tool, the user learns about the AI Act in relation to their role and activities as well as receives a personalized report based on the chosen attributes. Producers of AI systems will learn what is required if the system is within the high-risk category, a safety component to a product, or if it integrates a general-purpose AI model. Both producers and deployers of AI will gain understanding on what are the requirements for deploying AI systems in distinct circumstances. Product manufacturers, importers, distributors, third parties and affected persons alike will learn easily what the AI Act holds for them and each other.
Meanwhile, the joint action partners will finalise the two remaining e-tools and prepare questionnaires to collect user feedback throughout 2025 about the experience of benefitting from the e-tools. We are eager to work together with the European researchers and startups to break the barriers for innovation in health tech and other sectors in Europe. The sooner we have your feedback, the better we will know your challenges and channel that data to back to align with our and other national and European wide initiatives for your advantage.
